What is a Pedalboard?

A pedal pad is an essential tool for guitarists who use multiple effects pedals in their setup. It provides a sturdy and organized platform for effects pedals to attach to, keeping them in place and preventing them from sliding around during performances. One of the best things about pedal pads is that they include cables and connectors, so you don’t have to worry about buying separate parts. This saves time and makes it easier to set up your pedalboard.
When shopping for a pedal pad, price can be an issue for some guitarists, as some models can be quite expensive. However, it’s always a good plan to check out reviews and compare prices before making a purchase. The good news is that some pedal pads come with additional features, such as a load feature that can adjust the level of each effect pedal. This makes it easier to combine and fine-tune your sound. Moreover, a pedal pad can also be great for gigging musicians as it helps to hold everything securely in place while you play.
Using a pedal pad is straightforward, and it involves a few simple steps. First, you need to remove the pedals from your existing setup and attach them to the pedal pad. Then, you can connect the cables and check that everything is working correctly. Some pedal pads also include spare parts, which can come in handy if you experience an issue with your setup. Overall, a pedal pad is a great investment for guitarists who want a reliable and organized way to manage their effects pedals.

The Process to Build Your Dream Board

When building your custom pedalboard, the first step is to decide on the size and design that fits your space and style. You have the option to select a width starting from 20 inches to a maximum of 38 inches. Customers are also given the choice of either a simple row or a more complex layout. Our pedalboards include options to expand, so you can add more pedals and customize your board over time.
Once you have selected the width, you can select from over 70 tolex colors and designs. Tolex is a vinyl material used for amplifier and pedalboard covers. With numerous customization options, individuals can personalize a pedalboard that best reflects them.
Next, customers can choose between the two metal corner options. The default is the standard black corners with the choice of upgrading to chrome corners for a small additional charge.
Pedal Pad offers several customization features for their custom guitar pedalboards that allow musicians to optimize their signal chain. One set of features involves different connection types on the right, left, or audience side of the pedalboard. Customers can choose from ¼” double female TS/TRS, XLR (female outside to male inside or male outside to female inside), MIDI 5-pin, standard IEC inlet single, IEC inlet with lighted switch and 2 female AC outlets, or USB 3.0 A-B/B-A reversible connections. These features allow musicians to connect their pedals and other gear in different ways based on their specific needs, creating a versatile signal chain that can be tailored to their sound.
Another customization feature is the extended lid, which adds extra space for larger pedals or accessories, allowing musicians to add more effects to their signal chain. A mic stand bracket is also an add-on option that allows musicians to mount their pedalboard to a microphone stand for easy access during performances, which can be helpful when making adjustments to their signal chain on the fly. The carry-along kit is another add-on that includes a custom-fitted carrying case and shoulder strap for easy transport, allowing musicians to bring their signal chain with them wherever they go.
Lastly, Pedal Pad offers a recessed power strip with 3.5A max USBs as an add-on option, which requires an AC source. This feature allows musicians to power their pedals and other gear without needing multiple power sources, making it more convenient for on-the-go performances and ensuring that their signal chain remains stable and consistent. Overall, Pedal Pad’s customization options allow musicians to optimize their signal chain for their specific needs and preferences.
